Attic & Crawlspace Restoration

Jamul Pest Control Remediation services, Attic restoration services clean, decontaminate, and re-insulate attics, typically after pest infestations (rodents, insects) or contamination (fungi, feces), involving wildlife/pest removal, removing damaged insulation, sanitizing with antimicrobial treatments, repairing damaged ducts/wiring, and installing new, proper-R-value insulation to restore the attic to a clean, safe, and energy-efficient state
Attic Restoration Typical Process:
01. Inspection and Planning
One of our licensed professional assesses the activity / damage (wildlife, rats, mice, birds), determines required R-value, plans and measures the area to be remediated, and identifies necessary repairs.
03. Removal
Insulation removal: A high-powered vacuum removes all contaminated, soiled, or damaged insulation. Depending on the type of space and type of insulation this may need to be done manually.
Debris Removal: Any remaining debris is removed using smaller vacuums or small brooms/pans.
05. Sealing/Rodent Proofing (Optional)
Highly recommended to get the area excluded against wildlife and rodents to avoid this activity from happening again.
We also offer Air Sealing & Vapor Barrier: Gaps around pipes, wires, and joists are sealed, and soffit baffles are replaced to maintain proper ventilation.
02. Preparation and Containment
The attic entrance is sealed using plastic film, to isolate the workspace, and surfaces are protected with drop cloths.
04. Treatment/ Disinfection
A mineral treatment is sprayed or dusted depending on the setting, to neutralize bacteria, and the media that promotes viruses. Depending on the activity an insecticide, miticide or an industrial enzyme cleaner might be used.
06. Installation
The technicians install a new layer of insulation batt or blown-in cellulose/fiberglass to the recommended R-value, creating a thermal barrier.
Key Goals:
-
Health & Safety: Eliminating biohazards from animal waste and carcasses.
-
Energy Efficiency: Upgrading insulation to reduce heating/cooling costs.
-
Pest Prevention: Sealing entry points and monitoring.
-
Odor Reduction: Reduce smells that attract pests and linger in the home (We do not guarantee odor elimination, although most times it is achieved with the full process.).
